I would say one of my main strengths are film editing; this could be because I would like to further this as a career. I have a lot of experience in editing and I also do this in my free time. I do this with the use of Adobe Premier Pro and Cute Cut Pro. My editing skills are evident in my college work such as my: How To Video, Professional Portfolio, Film Festival, Documentary, Music Video. Outside college I use an editing app called Cute Cut Pro and I have an Instagram editing account where I edit movies and shows. Another one of my strengths is my understanding of a camera and being able to take really aesthetic pictures. Purchasing a Canon camera has really helped me achieve the best of my photography skills. My photography skills are shown in my Documentary, Music Video, How To Video, Instagram Photography Account and I have done photography at events. As I did photography GCSE I was exposed to Adobe Photoshop and then at college we learnt more about Adobe Photoshop. So because of all this learning I can say that I now am fully confident with Adobe Photoshop and with digital graphics. I have practised the art of digital graphics from my Photography GCSE projects, Class tasks in college, creating my logo and animating my Ident. I also have a lot of experience with digital animation from Adobe After Effects as I have used this app in my How To video, Professional Portfolio, Class tasks in college, Documentary and Music Video. Aside from technical skills my biggest strength is my work ethic as I am very passionate about this industry and I would prioritise my work.
Following the completion of this course the idea of acquiring an apprenticeship is compelling me. This is because with an apprenticeship I can learn by doing practical tasks rather than theoretical and I work best like that. Obtaining a runner job is the entry job to get into the television industry so I am applying to runner jobs and apprenticeships. An apprenticeship is a paid job where the person learns as well as gaining experience by doing practical tasks. A television placement entails setting up the equipment, being an PA where it can range from making the beverages to helping out wherever the crew needs help. The advantages of doing an apprenticeship is gaining real life experience, improving skills and most importantly you get paid. The disadvantages of not doing an apprenticeship is not experiencing university life, the competition is tough. I started this process is by starting to apply to apprenticeships and I searched Indeed and also individual companies that I would like to work for such as BBC, Channel 4.

A suitable apprenticeship for me is the production apprenticeship from BBC. I find this a suitable job because the apprenticeship consists of coming up with ideas and stories for content, learning how to use technical equipment and specialist software and finally to get experience delivered by professional trainers to learn skills on how to make content for programmes, research, operate technical equipment such as cameras, editing and lots more. I have applied to this apprenticeship and the process was simple they first asked about personal information and then I chose the London location and it asked me to fill a paragraph on why I want this apprenticeship. The picture below is showing that I have applied.

I had a discussion with my tutor about my career aspirations and what my plans are for after college. The targets I made was for my showreel to highlight my editing skills as that is what I want to do as a career but also show all my skills in different areas of the industry and to apply to more apprenticeships and take screenshots as a form of evidence.
